The Pant-yr-Holiad herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle living in a natural environment and managed in organic fashion Designer: Description of Garden: A line of balsam poplars leads into the garden, which features massed hydrangeas and some interesting trees, including an unusual Nothofagus antarctica. However the pride of the garden is the collection of rhododendrons, some collected from expeditions to China and elsewhere from the wild and others hybrids, produced in this garden, and prefixed with the name 'Holiad'. Scenic walks, a secret rose garden, a mill pond, a walled garden and potager complete the picture. History: From an earlier garden in their native Worcestershire, Geoff Taylor was a regular contributor to national gardening publications. In 1971, Geoff and his wife (who has a Welsh pedigree) gave up their scientific careers and moved to Pant-yr-Holiad, where they ran a dairy farm until retirement. In their spare time, they began to create a garden, which now extends to 20 acres and is still managed without outside help.
