Designer: Simon Hornby & Martin Lane Fox Description of Garden: The garden was started in 1990 and has been designed to have flower and colour from February to October, and is at its best in late May, June and October. It is a garden of great beauty throughout the Spring and Summer. The Letcombe Brook running through the garden is a great feature showing off beds of astilbe, rodgersia, iris and many other water plants. The shrub beds contain a large collection of viburnums and many other shrubs of interest. The Walled Garden of just under one acre contains six separate rooms, each distinct in character. The great variety in the Walled Garden shows off herbaceous plants, roses and foliage plants to magnificent effect. This is a plantsman's garden of stunning beauty, as perhaps one might expect from such a well-known name in gardening circles (ex-President of the RHS).
