Designer: William Podmore OBE Description of Garden: Standing high above Consall Forge and Valley, the gardens are spread over 70 acres and feature six lakes, various follies, summer houses and packhorse bridges. The gardens feature over 4 miles of walks and include many covered seats to allow visitors to pause and enjoy the spectacular views, regardless of the weather. History: The creation of the gardens over a period of fifty years was the work and vision of William Podmore. He removed three large pit banks, a legacy of the industrial era, and constructed dams, ridges and roads to produce the spectacular vistas of today. His book "Consall Hall Landscape Garden - The Hidden Vally Revealed" tells the tale. Local Inns: The Black Lion, Consall Accomodation: Some available in Leek, Cheadle & Cheddleton.
