 History of Garden
Colesbourne Park has been home of the Elwes family since 1789. The snowdrop collection was started by Henry John Elwes (1846-1922), who collected Galanthus elwesii in Turkey in 1874. The collection has been developed by the current owners, Sir Henry and Lady Elwes, and the garden is managed by Galanthus expert Dr John Grimshaw.
