 Description of Garden
Designer:
The two and a half acre Walled Garden has been carefully restored and includes an award-winning rose garden with over 1,000 old fashioned rose bushes. The herb garden, planted with over 200 herbs (some dating back to ancient times), is divided into 4 separate sections: culinary, medicinal, household and ornamental. Other features include flower and fountain gardens, new organic vegetable garden specialising in companion planting, with an area devoted to producing special seed for the National Seed Library (HDRA), as well as an idyllic moat walk, ancient wisteria, mulberry trees and romantic vine walk.
 History of Garden
The garden is based on a Gertrude Jekyll design, and designed by Serena Smith.

The original two and a half acre walled garden which was laid out formally in the 1500's was partly re-designed by Gertrude Jekyll at the turn of the century. Sadly by the end of the Second World War the garden had become overgrown and neglected, looked after only by the elderly game keeper and butler in their spare time. Since then it has progressed through the years as an Organic Market Garden, providing fruit and vegetables to local villages, as well as supplying Loseley House. Then in 1991, Mike and Sarah More-Molyneux had a dream of re-creating the past and restoring the walled garden to its 16th century glory. After 2 years of planning, work began on the project in 1993.
